Our church has recently become a partner with the Acceptance Recovery Center in Athens, Georgia. This is a program that strives to, “provide education, shelter, and support in a structured transitional therapeutic community for the displaced and addicted populations while empowering them to become productive members of society.” The second Sunday of each month our church provides the ARC with a meal as well as a time of fellowship. In addition to meal-prep we welcome donations to make care packages for current and future residents. Although our promotional drive has come to a close, we are always on the look-out for the following:
– toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant (men’s and women’s)
– shampoo and soap
– T-shirts (M, L, & XL)
– Underwear (M, L, & XL) and socks
If you would like to assist with this outreach please contact the church office to be put in touch with Kim Patton or Tony Lastinger.
